Are high returns from marijuana companies just a pipe dream?

This week the New York Times, in an editorial, urged US lawmakers to legalise marijuana. Some states already have, but federal legislation remains unchanged. It's already possible to trade shares in marijuana companies, mostly OTC stocks, and therefore they carry plenty of risk, but could this ever grow to be an industry worth as much as the business of tobacco or alcohol. Alan Brochstein, a marijuana related investment expert and founder of 420investor.com, describes the current investment landscape for anyone thinking they can get in early by investing in what you could call, pun intended, a 'budding industry'.
