Tech wrap: Amazon's game plan and HP's fire hazard

The latest in a series of tech acquisitions; Amazon has just bought Twitch in a deal worth a whopping USD 970. Twitch enables gamers to share their games and watch others play too. This is the second largest deal Amazon has ever done. Tech expert Stuart Miles shares his thoughts on how he thinks this move could help boost Amazon, and it’s not perhaps the most obvious reason.

But it hasn’t been as good a week for Hewlett-Packard. The firm has had to recall more than six million power cords for notebook computers in the US and Canada over potential fire and burn risks. Stuart explains what this could mean for shareholders.

And finally, savvy investors already know that wearable technology is the next big thing, but Stuart reckons the companies that make these products, such as Jawbone, could be onto something else, and something very big.
