Where in the world: Unearthing investment opportunities

From North America to Asia - where in the world are the best investment opportunities? Tim Strauts from Morningstar Research has been crunching the numbers using the company’s quantitative valuation ratings.

Strauts says the North America region is fairly valued although the US itself is overvalued by 1.3%. In South America, Brazil is undervalued by 8% making it one of the cheapest areas in the world, he says.

Turning to Europe and the worsening economic outlook there has meant a number of countries are now undervalued including Germany at -0.8%.

Russia remains the most undervalued country across the globe as investors are scared off by, among other issues, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Overall he says world valuations are more attractive than they were last quarter, with the best opportunities in Asia and emerging markets.
