Coleman: My Best & Worst Trade of 2014

With the 2014 trading year coming to an end, we at TradingFloor.com are taking a moment to reflect on the highs and lows from the past year.

Ian Coleman recalls a profitable trade he made on GBPUSD back in July. After picking a top in the currency pair at USD 1.72, the currency retreated heavily from this high. The trade sticks out for Ian, because at the time he was visiting the US and was able to capitalize on the more beneficial exchange rate. However, the trading year wasn’t filled with such profitable highs. He remembers not believing convinced of the trend towards a stronger USD and weaker JPY. Trading persisted rapidly and unfortunately for Ian there were not that many opportunities to buy dips in the market due to the dollar’s sharp rise.
