Earnings Season: Schlumberger among top drilling firms and here's why

Schlumberger is due to report quarterly earnings after market close on Thursday. Saxo Bank’s Peter Garnry explains why the US oil services and drilling company is doing much better than its rivals and why Schlumberger stock is starting to look like an attractive investment.

Oil drilling companies have been hit hard by the slump in oil prices, but Schlumberger looks like it has managed to keep its margins stabile by cutting costs. Schlumberger also benefits from being a US company with a diversified portfolio of businesses, Garnry says.
