Asian rebound could gather momentum if central banks follow up

Saxo Bank's Asia based macro analyst Kay Van Petersen gives us his weekly look ahead. Asian markets managed a recovery at the end of last week after oil prices rallied, but can that positive momentum be sustained? Investors will be looking ahead to a flurry of central bank activity for some direction.

US Q4 GDP is due to be published this week plus the Federal Reserve is also meeting and analysts are looking to the Fed for any fresh indications of a softening in the assumed rate rise trajectory. A dovish tone from the Fed could spark a welcome rally in US stock markets.
