SaxoTrader Quick Start 4: Account Details & Margin
Explore the Account section of the SaxoTrader trading platform to view the account summary, open positions,financial statements and trading conditions for Forex, stocks and other products.

Account details & margin
Welcome to the introduction video for our trading platform. These episodes will introduce you to the trading platform providing an explanation of all its features.
In this episode we will be looking into the Account section and how you can:
- View the account summary,
- your open positions,
- your financial statement,
- the activity log,
- the trading conditions,
- and your subscriptions
1 The account summary
In the account summary section you can monitor your balance, positions as well as margin details.
Navigate to the account section by clicking the account tab.
If not already present, add the account summary module from the Account drop down.
You can view current and historic versions of the account overview.
The Cash and Positions summary box contains information about your cash balance and the total value of your positions and the impact they have on your cash balance.
The margin summary box contains information about how much is available for margin trading, your net exposure and how much of your margin is utilized – It is important that your utilized margin remains below 100%.
2 Open positions
The open positions section will show you all open positions held on the selected account.
Should you hold positions across multiple asset classes, the open positions box will be grouped into the different instrument categories.
Clicking the ‘+’ sign next to a position will reveal the position details.
Here you can see the instrument name, Value date, whether your positions are long or short in the market, the amount, the price which the position was opened at, the current price, the aggregated Profit/loss in instrument currency, in base currency as well as the percentage the price has moved.
You can furthermore view the position details for more information.
3 Financial statement
The financial statement is a useful tool as it will provide you with a detailed overview of your account balance in a certain period.
You can change this period by using the date fields in the top.
4 Activity log
The activity log will provide you with an overview of all the activities related to your account.
This also can be filtered to display a certain period in time by using the date fields in the top.
Furthermore by clicking the checkboxes you can filter on activity types or you can use the custom filter tool.
5 Trading Conditions
The trading conditions page will provide you with an overview of the conditions related to trading a product, such as minimum trade size, margin requirement and much more.
You can use the drop down to select a predefined list of instruments.
6 Subscriptions
The Subscription Price list page will provide you with a list of all available subscriptions. Here you can get fast and easy access to real-time exchange market data and live streaming news.
To subscribe click the subscribe link for the service you want to subscribe to
Complete the subscriber agreement and accept the terms and conditions
Click the submit subscription agreement button at the end of the agreement.
After subscribing, visit the Current Subscriptions page for an overview of all your subscribed services.
