Bill Blain from mint partners says Europe’s bank still pose a threat – and unless they shrink their balance sheets they won’t withstand another crisis, but that in itself can create a problem, because while trying to raise more capital they can't lend.
The other issue still facing financials is over regulation, which makes lending and borrowing more complicated.
When it comes to investing in banks, he says apart from a few Nordic and one UK -HSBC - Europe's banks are slightly "less appealing than root-canal surgery".
