Emerging markets are ‘far from dead’

Emerging markets may have hit a big bump on the road, but Saxo Bank’s Peter Garnry says they are “far from dead” and will continue to outperform developed markets long-term, due to superior growth dynamics.

In particular, Peter suggests looking at Turkey; the country's equity market will soon be a great opportunity for a shorter-term rebound. Longer term he is also very positive as it has a below average fiscal deficit to GDP and the economy is closer to trend growth with unemployment expected to fall.

He adds that the strongest emerging market countries in the current rout are China and Mexico with the former due to a recent pickup in manufacturing activity and Mexico due to its high growth and proximity to the US.
