Also known as web based computing, it’s a current trend fueled by the proliferation of the Internet, mobile computing and the explosion of social networks. Basically, it is where the user accesses software applications and data processing that occurs on outsourced internet server (or a cluster of servers) rather than directly on the PC or the mobile device that the user is accessing.
