Nintendo under pressure to change its game

The Japanese gaming giant Nintendo, has seen around a billion dollars wiped off its value. Investors are urging the company to change its game. The maker of Tetris and Super Mario Brothers has been resisting a move into online game development while losing the battle against Microsoft and Sony to dominate the console market.

The firm’s stock fell by as much as a fifth when news broke that the company is now looking at a third year of losses in a row.

Nintendo said it expected to sell around three million Wii U consoles, that’s only a third of its previous prediction. Sales are also expected to be hit by the rise in downloads of games for phones and tablets.
