Saxo's global macro strategist Kay Van-Petersen considers whether or not the impeachment of US president Donald Trump will realistically happen.

Collusion with Russia is being strongly denied by the Trump administration. But Van-Petersen says some clients have voiced concern over any potential impact that impeachment proceedings may have on trading and investment.

Only two US presidents have been impeached out of the past 44 and Congress - currently controlled by Republicans - would have to vote by a majority to start the process, says Van-Petersen.
