But Africa always has the potential to surprise us and 2018 will see South Africa lead an unexpected renaissance that will see it and its neighbours blossom politically and economically.  Saxo Bank's head of macroeconomic research Christopher Dembik explains why this could be an outrageous prediction for 2018.
