The anti-social media market trend

Why do the markets seem to be so anti social media? Many investors don’t like facebook, Twitter’s wings have been clipped and Linked In is the latest social media company to lose a few friends after some weaker than expected numbers.

Let’s look at some of the figures: Twitter has been down 23 percent and LinkedIn was down 8 percent. Two clear examples of the markets expressing doubts about the future of these companies. Saxo Bank Head of Equity Strategy, Peter Garnry, points out that investors appear to have been getting carried away with social media firms, attracted by spectacular growth initially, but now they want to know how exactly the companies will continue to grow in the future.
