Several central bank meetings this week are worth keeping an eye on, says Saxo Capital Markets’ global macro strategist Kay Van-Petersen.
He says that the Reserve Bank of New Zealand’s meeting on Thursday should be noteworthy with its expected interest rate cut to 1.75%.
The odds of governor Graeme Wheeler cutting the OCR a quarter-point to a record low is now 80%, Van-Petersen says.
Also watch out for central bank meetings in Thailand, South Korea, and the Philippines, adds Van-Petersen.
